Who are those fearless chaps, you might ask? Well, let's clarify a few things...
Our heroes are three students from the legendary Helsinki University of Technology, on the verge of graduation, and, at least for the time being, friends as well. They are adventurous by nature and share a common interest towards the mysterious continent known as Africa. They also like to travel by car and what then could be better way to learn about cultures and customs of a far away places, than cruise through the country in a two and a half ton four by four?
Still, their goal is to leave something more behind them than just a diesel odouring cloud of dust lingering in the savannah. With this they mean the intention to brake the unofficial world record, made by a few daring Norwegian travellers a couple of years back. The norwegians drove from from Oslo to Cape Town in sixty days and it took them seven weeks to drive from Cairo to Cape Town. Now the humble goal of our good old boys' is to drive the same leg in only six weeks.
In addition to this, they would also like to direct the attention of the visitors of these pages to the necessity of a levy on commercial flights and on how free trade of African goods and raw materials to European markets would benefit us all. As a beautiful end: "Our globe is unique and common to us all."
