Europe
The Journey begins in Helsinki on March 11th. Estonia is reached by ferry from where the boys will proceed to Poland through Latvia and Lithuania. After this they will drive through Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria to Turkey. Our heroes plan to reach Istanbul on the 14th.

Middle-East
After driving through Turkey the expedition will cross the border to Syria. At the moment it is impossible to cross the border to Israel from Lebanon, therefore the plan is to go from Syria to Jordania and from there on to Israel. Visitors to Israel should bear in mind that passport stamped in Israel is not valid in some of the Muslim countries. Israel acknoweledges this problem and at request will not stamp the passport upon arrival. Alternatively it may be possible to get a second passport. That is the case at least in Finland.
Africa
The boys shall finally reach Africa when they cross over to Egypt. They hope to reach Cairo on the 22nd. There they will meet Mikko who will skip the first legs of the journey. Guys should get to the Aswan Dam on the 26th. According to travel reports there should be a ferry across to Sudan for approximately 300 euros. There are no official border crossings on land because of the tension between Egypt and Sudan. The Sudanese civil war was fought mainly in Southern Sudan and the Darfur region is in Western Sudan. They plan to drive through the more peaceful East Sudan to Ethiopia.
Drought has stricken Ethiopia and Kenya again. According to sources, the drought mainly affects grazing in the region. They should get to Addis Ababa on April 2 and Nairobi on the 5th. From Kenya it is off to Tanzania where the expedition should get to Dar es Salaam on April 10 which is smack in the middle of the rainy season. Tanzanian roads are infamous and may be unusable during the rainy season. If this turns out to be the case they may have to change the plans of driving along the coast to Mozambique which is also infamous for its muddy roads. The backup plan is to drive through Malawi to Western Mozambique and on to South Africa. It is impossible to make accurate estimations of when they will make it there but they hope to get there by May 1. Boys should roll into Cape Town a few days later.
